My name is Petr Moravec and I was born on March 22, 1974 in České Budějovice. After my studies I pursued a career as a chef, but later I changed my career and now I work for a renowned security agency. Apart from my work, I also have a passionate interest in photography, which I have been doing since my youth. My first teachers were the famous Czech photographers Jaroslav Sýbek (ČTK, MF Dnes, South Bohemian Daily) and Zdeněk Rubeš (ČTK), from whom I learned the basics of the art of capturing the beauty of the moment. My favourite subject is nature and landscape, especially the Šumava region, which I love for its poetic and magical atmosphere.

As a photographer I cooperate with Českobudějovický deník and also with various authors who are involved in presenting Šumava history, culture and nature. Some of the pictures are published in other Czech periodicals and foreign magazines. In 2019, I published a Czech-German book “Šumava Poetic and Magical”, where my photographs are accompanied by verses of the forgotten Šumava poet Johann Peter from Bučina, translated by Jan Mareš. I live in České Budějovice, I like to travel and discover new places and sources of inspiration for my work.
